We are hiring a Sales Development Representative.

This sales role gives you the opportunity to develop new accounts and grow and maintain relationships with clients. You will be responsible for scheduling appointments with leads for the Account Executives. The primary responsibility of this role is to set appointments for the Account Executives. The Business Development team will be providing you with qualified prospects for you to reach out to. You have the option to prospect yourself if you wish to do so.

Objectives of this Role

  • Managing sales pipeline and developing new business opportunities
  • Take a lead role in the development of new business materials to create and nurture business opportunities and partnerships
  • Identify trends and customer needs, building a short/medium/long-term sales pipeline in accordance with targets
  • Develop strategies and positions by analyzing new venture integration
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of marketing strategies and delegate tasks that achieve strategic goals
  • Track performance and report metrics

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate industry trends and customer drivers and meet regularly with management and stakeholders to discuss strategy
  • Manage proposal response process, including detailed RFP requirements
  • Generate new leads, identify and contact decision-makers, screen potential business opportunities, and select the deals in line with the strategy
  • Develop and implement overarching outbound sales and business development strategy, sales processes, structure, and best practices across the company
  • Support deal structure and pricing with business value analysis; negotiate prices for proactive bids and proposals

List building:

Deliberately putting together ‘caseloads’ of 100 – 300+ qualified target prospect organizations on a daily basis (This is optional, either you can do it on your own if you prefer, or the Business Development team will provide you with qualified prospects daily)

Find several points of contact within each target prospect organization


Connect with all the points of contact or ask for a referral to the right person (decision maker)

Initial probe for pain followed by ‘giving’ value

Eventually, ask if there is interest in meeting and/or for a referral to the right person

Conduct qualification chats

Set qualified meetings with new prospective customers

Nurture relationships

  • Follow-up with highly personalized, relevant outreach aimed at prospects
  • ‘Give’ – use the law of reciprocity, deliver value in line with stage of consideration/reconsideration/retention process and/or needs
  • Set follow-up meetings
  • Attend those meetings/take notes/follow up with appropriate content/information
  • Continue to nurture the relationships
  • Help create Opportunity Analysis

Skills and Qualifications

  • Successful track record in B2B sales and negotiation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Working experience with sales techniques
  • Proficiency with data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Proven ability to plan and manage resources

  • 1+ years of experience in sales with a track record of success
  • Loves sales; the thrill of the hunt, negotiating, closing the deal–and wants to sell
  • Likes to manage her/his work like it is her/his own business
  • Ability to confidently and effectively communicate at all levels in an organization
  • Good at connecting over social media and via email, and even better at connecting over the phone and in person; urge to pick up the phone and get things done
  • Driven, competitive, self-motivated, and a team player
  • Loves talking on the phone

You will be measured and paid in 2 ways:

1. Number of qualified new business

  • Proposals
  • Sales (This aspect of your role involves using your time prospecting for qualified leads, calling prospects, emailing prospects, and finding ways to optimize your outreach.) Note: You must be willing and ready to generate as much activity as possible every single day, and it is proven that the more activity you generate, the more success you’ll have.
  • How many dials
  • How many emails
  • How many voicemails
  • How many connections
  • How many engagements/conversations
  • Ballpark length of engagements/conversations

2. Revenue generated by SDR. Quality of sales will be measured by:

  • New sales booked revenue from prospects engaged by SDR
  • Retention rate of new customers from prospects engaged by SDR
  • Upsell revenue generated from customers from prospects engaged by SDR
  • A successful track record in sales is required for this position

Job-Type: Full-time

Base: $35,000 – $40,000/year + Commission
